Mia Renee Henry on the red carpet

HELLO, I'M MIA.

I Bring Authenticity & Recognition To Lesser-Known Narratives.

Storytelling is in my DNA. I grew up surrounded by cameras and scripts—my dad spent over 40 years as a cinematographer for ABC, my mom writes screenplays, and my cousin directs indie films. But my own path took detours: from leading startups in healthcare to managing live broadcast production in eSports for OGN that ran for two years until the pandemic hit.

That pause led me back to what I love most, feature documentaries. I joined the team behind Judy Blume Forever (two Emmy nods), and have since worked on news segments, short documentaries, and feature length documentaries driven by one goal: to provoke introspection, ignite empathy, and inspire change.

Along the way, I’ve picked up a few honors—multiple Emmy nominations and a Pulitzer Prize finalist nod among them—but it’s the stories that matter most to me. Stories that connect. Stories that last.

10+ Years Of Experience

With over 10 years of experience in news, documentary, and live broadcast, I specialize in purpose-driven storytelling and end-to-end production. From Emmy and Peabody-winning films to live eSports and national news, my work blends creative impact with operational excellence.

Featured Work

My recent works include developing and producing community-focused stories for the news show “SoCal Matters”, highlighting issues across Southern California. The show earned a Los Angeles Area Emmy nomination in its inaugural year for its coverage.

I also served on the production team for the feature documentary “Judy Blume Forever”. The film received a Peabody Award and was nominated for several honors, including two primetime Emmys.
